Ethan is a defender who signed a two-year contract at the Crown Oil Arena in July 2022.
This is his second spell with the club after playing 16 games on loan from Wolves in the second half of the 2018/19 campaign.
The centre-half joins Dale having spent the last three seasons with Shrewsbury Town, clocking-up over 100 appearances in League One.
A product of the Academy system at Wolves, the 29-year-old made his way to their first team squad as a substitute for a Premier League game at Birmingham in December 2010.
Ethan made his professional debut in November 2012 while on loan at Bury and went on to play Championship football for Wolves and in League One in loan spells at Sheffield United and MK Dons.
