Cameron is a left-sided defender who was signed on a two-year deal by Dale in June 2022.
After rising though the youth system at Wolverhampton Wanderers, John went out on a season-long to Doncaster Rovers during the 2019/20 campaign.
A successful stint there saw the 22-year-old make a permanent switch to the Keepmoat Stadium in the summer of 2020 for an undisclosed fee.
Cameron had also impressed during his time with the Wolves Academy and was a key member of the U23 side which secured promotion to Premier League 2 Division 1 in 2018/19, wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions as the side won the title.
