THE OPPOSITION

This is Halifax’s seventh consecutive season at National League level following their promotion in 2017.

The Shaymen finished tenth last season and won the FA Trophy, with a 1-0 win over Gateshead at Wembley.

They have brought in ten new players over the summer, including the likes of former-EFL players Adam Senior (Bolton Wanderers) and Aaron Cosgrave (AFC Wimbledon).

Chris Millington has been their manager since the summer of 2022, stepping up to the role following the departure of Pete Wild to Barrow AFC, who Millington was assistant to.

They have started the season with just one loss from their first six games, winning two and drawing three. They are unbeaten in their last four.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This will be the first meeting between the sides since March 2002.

There have been 136 matches, with 44 wins for Dale, 54 for Halifax, and 38 draws.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE

Gary Parsons will be the referee for Saturday’s game. He has been refereeing in the National League since the 2017/18 season. The game at the Crown Oil Arena this weekend will be his first appointment of this season.

Adam Nichol and Francis Sibley are assistant referees, with Kavan Hurn as the fourth official.
