The Youth Team were beaten 2-1 at home to Blackpool in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday.
Dale had beaten their opponents 4-2 away from home just four days earlier and looked to be heading for a double when Brooklyn Bailey put Lee Thorpe’s side ahead in the 26th minute.
However, a penalty from Layton Campbell on the stroke of half-time pulled the Seasiders level.
A draw was on the cards as neither team could pull ahead until the visitors grabbed an 89th minute, with Campbell adding his second of the game.
Having leapfrogged Blackpool with the win in midweek, it means Dale now drop back below the Pool. They are without a game this weekend but take on Morecambe at Platt Lane on Saturday 30th March.
