The Youth Team are in EFL Youth Alliance League action this Saturday as they face a trip to Bolton Wanderers.
Lee Thorpe’s side, like many other teams, have been the victim of postponements, playing only once since the start of the New Year.
Following their final game of 2023, which was a 1-1 draw away at Hartlepool United in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup on Tuesday the 19th of December, the Youth Team have only played once.
That game came on Saturday the 13th of January as they were beaten 3-0 by Shrewsbury Town.
Prior to that defeat, they were enjoying a good run in the league, winning six times and drawing once.
Despite their recent defeat and the postponements this year, Dale have enjoyed a positive season so far. After 11 games, they sit sixth, four points behind fifth-placed Bolton, who have played two more games.
The Trotters have had a mixed bag of results in their last five league games, winning and losing twice whilst drawing once.
Kick-off is at 10.30am on Saturday at the Eddie Davies Academy at Lostock (BL6 4AW).
