Dale Proud To Support Unite For Access Campaign

7 March 2024

Rochdale AFC and Rochdale AFC Community Trust join forces to support Level Playing Field's Unite for Access campaign.

This Saturday, 9th March 2024, marks a significant moment as Rochdale AFC and Rochdale AFC Community Trust come together to celebrate Level Playing Field's Unite for Access campaign. This year's campaign aims to raise awareness among football fans that not every disability is visible, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and accessibility in sports.

Football is more than just a game; it is a platform for unity, inclusivity, and celebration. It should be a safe, enjoyable, and comfortable experience for everyone, whether they are on the pitch or in the stands. With this ethos in mind, Rochdale AFC and its Community Trust are proud to stand in solidarity with Level Playing Field to support this vital campaign.

As part of our commitment to promoting inclusivity in football, the First Team players of Rochdale AFC will don warm-up shirts adorned with the Unite for Access Campaign logo before the game. This visible display of support sends a powerful message of solidarity and inclusivity to fans both on and off the pitch.

Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that our Ability Counts Teams and SEND Ambassadors from Rochdale Council will be present in the stands, alongside other local SEND groups. Their presence not only highlights the importance of inclusivity, but also serves as a testament to the collective effort in ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, feels welcomed and valued in the football community.

"We are thrilled to be part of Level Playing Field's Unite for Access campaign," said Nathan Ashurst, Health and Inclusion Coach at Rochdale AFC Community Trust.

"At Rochdale AFC and our Community Trust, we firmly believe in the power of football to bring people together. By supporting this campaign, we hope to raise awareness and foster a more inclusive environment within our club and beyond."
