THE OPPOSITION

York City returned to the National League in 2016 following their relegation from the Football League.

They were relegated again in the following season to the National League North before gaining promotion back into the National League in 2022.

Neal Ardley's side currently sit in 19th place with 23 points after 22 games played.

The North Yorkshire side were winless in their first eight games after a tough start to the current campaign.

The Minstermen parted company with former manager Michael Morton after the reverse fixture earlier in the season where a brace from Tyrese Sinclair and a chip from Ian Henderson gave Dale a 3-1 win at the LNER Community Stadium.

Dipo Akinyemi, who signed from Ayr United in the summer, is their top scorer with eight league goals.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This will be the 116th meeting between the two sides.

Dale have won 44 of those, York City have won 47 times and they've drawn 24 times
