THE OPPOSITION

For the second consecutive game, Dale will face a newly promoted team.

Oxford City won the National League South playoffs, beating St Albans City 4-0 in the final, to earn the right to compete in the fifth tier for the first time in their history.

They have added four new faces to their squad this summer, as well as sealing the return of goalkeeper Chris Haigh on loan from Ebbsfleet United, who was part of their promotion winning side last season.

The Hoops suffered a 5-2 defeat at Aldershot Town on the opening day last weekend. Former Gillingham and Charlton Athletic striker Josh Parker scored both of City’s goals.
