Rochdale Ladies Open Age Team Off The Mark With First Win

24 September 2019

Rochdale AFC Ladies Open Age team recorded their first victory of the season, after an emphatic 8-0 win over Baugley Athletic FC on Sunday.

Emily Smith got off the mark for the season, grabbing four goals in the process.

Kamila Zakrzewska’s brace further enhanced the score line as the hosts ran away with the game.

Lucy Pilling scored her second of the season, with Erin Kilpatrick also getting in on the act.

And Ladies Open Age manager Emma Thetford was thrilled with what she saw from her side

She said: “The team displayed brilliant teamwork, helping to create numerous chances and, as a result, a number of goals.

“The girls worked well together, demonstrating some quick passing and link-up play – things we have been working on recently.

“Each week the team are getting stronger and it’s great to see. Let’s hope it continues and we have a great season.”

The team lost their opening two fixtures. Read HERE.

The open age ladies will next host Urmston Meadowside at Wardle Academy on Sunday 29 September (KO: 14:00).
