The Rochdale AFC Ladies’ season is underway…
The Rochdale AFC Ladies Open Age Team have been on the wrong side of two narrow defeats in their opening couple of matches this season.
The Dale women got their season underway on September 9th, taking on Sale in their opening fixture of the new campaign. Sale were 5-3 victors.
At the weekend, they took on Tameside in their first away encounter of the season. Despite a strong start from Rochdale, the home side went 1-0 up in the 36th minute, but their lead was short-lived as Dale equalised with a header from Emily Hindle in the 41st minute, ensuring the sides went in level at the break.
Three quick fire goals before the hour mark saw the hosts open up an advantage but Rochdale were far from out of the game, and goals from Georgia Cocking and Lucy Pilling got the score line back to 4-3.
The player of the game went to Erin Kilpatrick, who provided an exceptional performance throughout the game.
