Three Players Reach Ten Goals

11 January 2024

For the first time since the 2020/21 campaign, three Dale players have scored ten goals each in the same season.

Kairo Mitchell, Tyrese Sinclair and Ian Henderson have all reached double figures from our 30 games so far.

The feat has been achieved several times in our recent history, but this is the earliest in a season since the 2014/15 campaign.

Henderson was amongst the three then, scoring 22 times in total. He was joined by Peter Vincenti and Matty Done, who scored 16 and 14 respectively.

This was achieved by December in that campaign, after 28 matches. It was also the last season that three players scored more than ten goals in a season.

The last time three players reached double digits was in the Covid-hit 20/21 campaign. Matthew Lund (12), Stephen Humphrys (11) and Jimmy Keohane (10) all hit the landmark, with Keohane scoring his tenth on the final day of the season.

We’ve shared compilation videos/threads of all Mitchell’s, Sinclair’s, and Henderson’s goals this season, which you can watch below.

KAIRO MITCHELL

Mitchell scored his ten goals from 21 appearances, before an untimely injury which has ruled him out since November.

TYRESE SINCLAIR

Sinclair started the season with a bang, scoring seven in his first nine appearances. He added another before he also picked up an injury which saw him sidelined for six weeks.

Since his return, he has scored twice, including a stunner against Kidderminster Harriers last Saturday.

IAN HENDERSON

Our all-time record goalscorer has reached double figures in every full season he has had at the club.

His tenth, also against Kidderminster, took him to 146 goals for Dale. He has three goals in his last four games.
