Rochdale AFC is delighted to announce the loan signing of D’Mani Mellor.
The forward returns to the club on a deal until the end of the season from Wycombe Wanderers.
Mellor spent the second half of last season at Dale, on loan from the League One side, starting all eight of Jimmy McNulty's games in charge at the end of the campaign.
“I’m really happy to be back,” he commented.
“I’ve been speaking with the gaffer recently and he showed a real desire to want to bring me in, which is obviously a good feeling to have.
“I’m looking forward to getting some game time and hopefully making a real contribution from now until the end of the season.”
A product of the famous Manchester United Academy, Mellor made his professional debut for the Red Devils in a Europa League tie away to FC Astana in November 2019.
The now 23-year-old had a loan spell at Salford City in the 2021/22 campaign and signed for Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent deal in the summer of 2022.
He made 12 appearances for the Chairboys before joining Dale on loan in January 2023, when he featured 19 times, playing 90 minutes in each of McNulty’s games in charge during that time.
After returning to Wycombe, he appeared in their Carabao Cup win at MK Dons in August, before making the loan switch to Sutton, appearing eight times.
