Report | Dale Women 9-2 Droylsden Youth Centre Ladies

25 September 2023

Rochdale AFC Women were victorious in their first league game as they beat Droylsden Youth Centre Ladies 9-2.

Ellie Fergus scored five times, with Shannon Gill, Rebecca Leonard, Hannah Murray and Darcey Griffin netting the other four goals.

“It was not our best performance today, but we’re happy to get the three points,” said Rochdale AFC Women’s Manager Lee Atkinson.

“There were plenty of positives to take from this game, but there are also plenty of things that we need to improve on, especially before next week’s game against Darwen, who now sit top of their League, two divisions above us.”

Atkinson's side take on AFC Darwen Ladies on Sunday [1st October] in the second preliminary round of the Vitality Women's FA Cup.

Just like in the first qualifying round, the game is being held at the Crown Oil Arena, with supporters able to attend!

Tickets for that game can be purchased HERE.

We are again offering supporters the opportunity to have an extra special day with a ‘Beer and Box’ package, which includes food and drinks packages in one of the Crown Oil Arena hospitality boxes.
