Good Opportunity To Bounce Back - East

8 September 2023

Ryan East says Dale are looking to bounce back following last weekend's defeat.

Since joining Dale on the eve of the Woking game, East has started in all five of the club's games in the Vanarama National League.

His last appearance came in Dale's most recent game against FC Halifax Town, where they were beaten 1-0 by the Shaymen.

East and his teammates have since had nearly a full week's worth of preparation leading up to their game away at Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.

"It’s been good. We have had a couple of days off after Saturday’s game, but everyone’s come back in good moods," said East.

"We’ve looked through the game, had a look at what we can do better, and we hope to put that right at the weekend.”

The midfielder has started every single game since his arrival and has since built up some good relationships and partnerships, in particular with his fellow midfielders.

“I think the best thing that happened to me was getting thrown straight in because you have to build them relationships very quickly and I think that I’ve done that.

"At the time the games were coming thick and fast and you had no time to really breathe.

“Not having a game on a Tuesday was nice this week, it gives us a bit of a rest and now we go again.

"Obviously, I played with Clayts [Adam Clayton] last year and I learnt so much from him. He’s really good with me on and off the pitch.

"Harvey’s slightly different to myself and Clayts, but he’s a top player.

"And Tommy’s the young lad so we can help him as well, all three of us.”

When talking about the fixture at the weekend against Kidderminster Harriers, East said: "It’s a good opportunity to bounce back.

"Obviously, no game in this league is easy, so we know what to expect.

"I think a lot of the games at the minute are looking very similar, so it might be a similar theme.

"But we’ve worked hard this week to try and fix what happened last week.”
