As of Saturday morning, the Crown Oil Arena pitch remains in a playable condition, and at this time, when taking into account the favourable forecast, there are no concerns ahead of this afternoon's game.
A reminder that there are no sales on the day. Anyone without a ticket is advised not to travel to the area. Those with tickets are advised to get to the stadium early to avoid queues at the turnstiles.
FRIDAY 4PM UPDATE
The Club would like to issue the following update on the Crown Oil Arena playing surface ahead of tomorrow’s match at home to Oldham Athletic.
As of Friday afternoon, the pitch is in a playable condition, despite today’s heavy rainfall, which is forecast to continue into the night.
We are hopeful that, as we saw on multiple occasions last season, the surface can withstand the rainfall and that it ends early enough, as is forecast, for the pitch to be able to drain in good time for the game.
Rain covers are currently down on the worst affected areas of the pitch and staff will assess the surface in the morning, ahead of any potential inspection by match officials.
Both Clubs are eager to give the match every opportunity to take place. We will update supporters as soon as possible on Saturday.
