Saturday’s match against Aldershot Town at the Crown Oil Arena will be our official game of Remembrance.
Rochdale AFC wishes to pay tribute to those servicemen, women and former players who have fallen, as part of our 2023 Remembrance commemorations.
Players from our Military Veterans team will be in attendance, as will members of Rochdale GTAS (Get Together After Serving), along with local army cadets and air cadets.
Mayor of Rochdale Mike Holly will also be there, as well as council representatives.
Dignitaries from the Royal British Legion and club representatives will form a line on the edge of the circle, with managers of both clubs laying poppy wreaths on the centre circle.
Our Club Chaplain, Richard Bradley, will read poem ‘For The Fallen’, which will be followed by the playing of ‘The Last Post’ and a minute’s silence.
Supporters are advised to be in the stadium early, as we expect commemorations to begin at around 2.45pm.
We will remember them.
