Kairo Mitchell’s Grenada were knocked out of CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying by Guyana on Saturday night.
Mitchell’s equaliser on the hour mark sent the game to a penalty shootout, after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
However, Guyana ran out 5-3 winners in the shootout to book a tie with Guadeloupe, with the winner advancing to the Gold Cup proper.
Mitchell, who signed a deal in principle, subject to a medical, with Dale on Friday, earned his 16th cap for Grenada in the tie.
He converted a low cross from inside the six-yard box, cancelling out Omari Glasgow’s first-half goal for Guyana.
However, their quest to qualify for the competition proper came to an end via the penalty shootout.
