The club would like to issue the following update on the Crown Oil Arena playing surface ahead of tomorrow’s match at home to Colchester United.
As it stands (Friday afternoon), the pitch is in a playable condition, despite the amount of rainfall in the area this week.
However, with the weather forecast showing heavy downpours on Friday night, continuing into Saturday morning, the match referee will assess the pitch at 9am.
We are hopeful that, similar to last weekend’s game against Newport County, the surface can withstand the rainfall and the heavy downpour ceases early enough - as is forecast - to allow adequate drainage and time for the ground staff to work on the pitch, if necessary.
We will update supporters as soon as possible on Saturday morning.
