Rochdale Football Club are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Jake Eastwood has signed on loan.
He joins from Sheffield United on a deal until the end of the season.
It is Eastwood’s second spell with Dale, after making two appearances on loan from the Blades at the end of last season.
The 26-year-old says he is hoping to get as many minutes as possible during his time here.
“I’m happy to be here and be back after a short period at the end of last season,” said the goalkeeper.
“It was nice to get those games in at the end of last season, because [coming back] I know half of the people here already.
“I’ve had that competition [for the starting spot] at a lot of other places and it’s always good to stick together as the goalkeeper’s union and have healthy competition.
“I need to play games – I had a tough period up in Scotland the first part of this season, so to get as many games as I can in will be important for me.”
A product of Sheffield United’s academy, Eastwood signed his first professional contract in 2016, making his debut for the club in August 2017.
He has had loan spells at the likes of Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Portsmouth, as well as spending the first half of this season north of the border with Ross County.
The stopper kept a clean sheet in the second of his two appearances for Dale last season, in our final day win at Newport County.
