Rochdale Football Club are delighted to announce the return of Dan Adshead.
The 21-year-old joins on loan from Cheltenham Town until the end of the season.
A product of our Academy, Adshead returns to the club three-and-a-half years after departing for Norwich City.
Jim Bentley is delighted to bring the midfielder back to the Crown Oil Arena.
“Dan knows the club well and is a local boy,” said the gaffer.
“He’s played at a good level, both home and abroad, since he left as a youngster.
“We have tried to get fresh blood into all areas of the squad, and I’m pleased Dan has agreed to come back to Rochdale, where it all began for him, and we wish him well for the rest of the season.”
Adshead joined the club at the age of eight and made his first team debut at the age of just 16, in September 2017.
He signed his first professional contract the following year and was capped for England Under-18s two months later, scoring on his international debut.
In the summer of 2019, he joined then Premier League club Norwich City for an undisclosed fee.
During his time at Carrow Road, Adshead spent time on loan in Holland with SC Telstar, as well as Gillingham in League One last season.
He then moved on to Cheltenham Town last summer for an undisclosed fee and has made 15 appearances for The Robins so far this season.
