Positives To Take - Keohane

4 December 2023

Jimmy Keohane says Dale are in a good place, despite defeat at second placed Bromley on Saturday.

A late goal from the Ravens condemned Dale to defeat and halted the winning run that Jimmy McNulty’s men had been on, but Keohane says there are plenty of positives to take.

“I think we deserved more,” said the full-back.

“Overall, our performance was quite good, so it’s disappointing not to come away with anything.

“I suppose it was not putting away our chances, because our build-up was quite good in getting to the final third, but we didn’t put them away.

“We had a lot of control and a lot of the ball. Even defensively, when they had it, I felt we were in a good place, so it’s disappointing.

“There was a ten, fifteen-minute period where we lost that control and they managed to score.

“We’ve been in good form, and they’re in good form themselves being second in the league. I don’t think there’s too much to be disappointed about, but we’ll move on to the next one.

“We’re in a good place. We kept the ball really well at times and got to the final third, just didn’t take our chances.

“I know we’ve had a few injuries, but there’s a few coming back, like Tyrese [Sinclair] today, so there are plenty of positives to take as well.”

It was Keohane’s 193rd appearance for Dale and he was full of praise for the travelling fans, who applauded the team off at full-time.

“They were great. They were making plenty of noise. It’s a long trip on a cold day, so we really appreciate them coming down and being in full voice.”
