Rochdale AFC can confirm that Jamie Sarsfield will not be seeking re-election to the Board of Directors at the upcoming AGM, and will step down after two and a half years of service.
Much of Jamie’s time with the club, following his appointment in the summer of 2021, has been spent assisting with our Academy, which despite relegation from the EFL, continues to flourish. Indeed, the Academy has provided a graduate in each and every first team matchday squad so far this season, along with generating much needed revenue via player sales. A further three senior debuts were made in last night’s FA Trophy fixture.
Reflecting on his time in post, Jamie commented: “Although I’m sad to be leaving, now is the right time. My business is growing rapidly both nationally and internationally, meaning that I’m having to devote more and more time to it, including the need for overseas travel.
“Whilst there have been several sleepless nights, overall, I’ve enjoyed my time on the Board. I am not closing the door on my football club, and the club know if they ever need me for anything they know where I will be (probably sat in the Pearl Street Stand!).
“I wish our first team, all of our Academy teams, and our newly formed senior Women’s team, the very best of luck for the rest of this season and beyond.”
