Clayton Out For Ten Weeks

23 December 2023

Adam Clayton will be out of action for at least two months through injury.

The midfielder picked up a knee injury in last weekend’s game against York City and, following a scan this week, could be missing for ten weeks.

“The big boost is that he doesn’t need surgery,” said Head Coach Jimmy McNulty.

“But, the bad news is, that it’s 4-6 weeks in a knee brace, then 4-6 weeks recovery after that.

“We lose Adam and it’s similar to the rest of the season now, in that we’ll juggle players round and they’ll have to be heroes again out on the pitch.

“That’s what they were today [Saturday]. Loads of lads playing in the wrong position, but all for the right cause.”

Speedy recovery, Clayts.
