Kairo Mitchell could be out of action for eight weeks, Jimmy McNulty has confirmed.
A scan on the striker’s ankle revealed ligament damage that will see him miss a prolonged period of the season.
After Saturday’s game at Bromley, McNulty commented:
“His situation is worse than we thought, after having the scan. It’s testament to his bravery because he was trying to push himself for the last game.
“He’s got some serious ankle ligament damage and we’re probably going to lose him for eight weeks. It’s a loss because he was in great form.
“It was difficult to lose him, and Cian Hayes, and it was probably a boost for the opposition not to see those guys on the team sheet.”
