Rochdale AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Finlay Armstrong on loan from Fleetwood Town.
The full-back joins on a month-long deal from the League One side.
The 20-year-old said the move has a good feel to it.
“I’m delighted to be here,” he commented.
“I’m looking forward to hopefully playing my part and getting the club back up where it belongs.
“Everyone has been welcoming. The lads have been really good. I know I’ve not been here very long, but everyone has come over and introduced themselves. It’s got a good feel to it.
“I’m a left-back, but I’m quite attack-minded, and I enjoy going forward. I’d like to think that I’m quite cool and calm on the ball.
“I’ve had a lot of experience in non-league going out on loan. I’ve probably played nearly 70 games in the pyramid, so I have learned a lot.
“All of those experiences have been very valuable to me growing as a player and as a person. Hopefully, this can be another successful loan.”
Armstrong is a product of Burnley’s academy, progressing through the ranks before turning professional with the Clarets.
Whilst at Turf Moor, he spent time on loan at Padiham and Clitheroe in the 2019/20 season, before becoming a regular in Burnley’s Premier League 2 side.
Last season, Liverpool-born Armstrong went on loan further up the pyramid at FC United in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, before moving up a league again to Curzon Ashton in the National League North.
In the summer, he joined the Cod Army and has made three appearances for the First Team, along with regular games for their Development Squad.
