A Dominant Performance - Sinclair

26 August 2023

Tyrese Sinclair says Dale were disappointed not to take all three points from Friday’s game against Bromley.

He scored twice in the 2-2 draw but felt Dale’s dominance should have earned them a win.

“It’s a disappointing result with such a dominant performance from the lads,” said Sinclair.

“We’ve looked like that all season, but it feels like we’ve dropped two points, because we were clearly the better team.

“Teams are showing us respect because they’ve seen what we’re capable of doing. If you look at our games, they are a mirror of each other.

“Teams are sitting off us with a lot of players behind the ball and it’s our job to break that down and keep our structure.”

Having started every game so far this campaign, Sinclair says he is enjoying life under Head Coach Jimmy McNulty.

“There are so many positives from the start of this season. There hasn’t been a performance yet where we’ve not been the better team. If we can get the little details right, then I’m sure we’ll have a good season.

“I’m enjoying it a lot. I speak to Jim regularly and I know what my job is in the team. I feel like I’m getting a lot of freedom to express myself out wide.

“I might not be getting the ball every time, but if teams double up on me then if gives other players opportunities to effect the game, like Cam did when he won the penalty.”

Sinclair scored his second and third goals of the season, following his first at Woking just over ten days, but says he wants more.

“I feel like I could have got more goals and more assists. I’m quite critical of myself. I’m in the team to score goals, create stuff, so I expect that of myself.”
