Nick Chadwick Appointed Assistant Manager

1 September 2022

Rochdale Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Chadwick as our new Assistant Manager.

The 39-year-old reunites with manager Jim Bentley, signing a two-year deal.

Chadwick began his playing career as a youngster at Everton, making his senior debut in the Premier League at 18-years-old.

The forward spent time at a number of Football League clubs throughout his playing days, before transitioning into coaching with Blackburn Rovers’ academy.

After a four-year spell with Wigan Athletic’s academy as under-18 coach, he joined Bentley as Assistant Manager of AFC Fylde in the summer of 2020.

On joining Dale, Chadwick commented: “I was delighted to get the call off Jim.

“We’ve obviously developed a close working relationship at AFC Fylde and for me to come into this football club with Jim was something that I was very keen to do.

“Our relationship is really close. We were on the A License together and we played together for a small period of time when Jim was at Morecambe.

“We’ve known each other a long time, professionally and personally. We enjoy each other’s company and I’m thankful he’s brought me to the club.”

Bentley said: “Nick is a fantastic coach and done very well at Wigan Athletic over the years.

“He worked with me at AFC Fylde. He’s got a good knowledge of the game, a good record of improving young players and bringing them on.

“He’s hard working, he’s honest, he wants what’s right and best. He wants to give it his all and between us, the staff and the players, that’s what we need to do.”

Welcome to the club, Nick!
