Plenty To Be Positive About - Bentley

11 November 2022

Jim Bentley says there is plenty to be positive about heading into Saturday’s game at home to Mansfield Town.

Dale were 1-0 winners over Salford City on Tuesday night, moving up to 19th in the Sky Bet League Two table.

However, the gaffer insists Dale must build on that win.

“We don’t want to rest on that win,” says Bentley.

“We want to win the next one as well and try to get ourselves on a run. Spirits are good as you can imagine, we’ve moved up a few places in the league and there’s plenty to be positive about.

“The most important thing is the team. It’s important that supporters get behind us, that we believe in ourselves and go out to try and win every game of football.

“Mansfield are a good, ambitious club. They’re a solid outfit and a club I thought would do well before a ball was kicked this season.

“They’re just outside the playoffs and will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing on Tuesday. We’ve got to go out with the same mentality that we did on Tuesday and find a way of winning a game of football.

“We’ve got a couple of issues around injuries. Liam has a bit of an ankle injury. We’re hopefully he’ll be back in a few weeks, but he certainly won’t feature at the weekend.

“Scott Quigley, Tahvon Campbell and Aidy White are making good progress. We’ll need them coming into the December and Christmas period, which is always one of the busiest part of the season.”
