Josh Andrews Sidelined For At Least Six Weeks

4 February 2022

Robbie Stockdale has confirmed that Josh Andrews will be sidelined for a further six weeks due to injury.

The striker was forced off in Dale’s 0-0 draw at home to Bradford City last month after rolling his ankle.

“Unfortunately, Josh is going to be out for a decent amount of time,” the gaffer said.

“He’s still on loan to us, so we expect him back to contribute at the back end of the season.

“He’s, I’ve been told, going to miss another six weeks before he’s able to train again.”

There was also an update on Jimmy Keohane, who has been missing since November with a broken foot.

“Jimmy isn’t training with the rest of the squad yet, but he’s doing his individual return to training protocols with the fitness staff.

“He is on the grass, he is running, striking the ball a little bit now, so he’s probably a couple of weeks away from being in contention, I guess, or even just training.

“With the type of injury he’s had, a broken bone in his foot, we don’t want him to come into a contact session and it flare up again. So, we’re waiting on him.”
