Rochdale AFC Walking Football, part Rochdale AFC Community Trust ‘Our Teams’ project, have secured silverware once more for the Crown Oil Arena trophy cabinet.
Competing in the Greater Manchester Walking Football League, they managed to win two trophies in the Autumn League which finished recently.
There are more than forty teams taking part in the GMWFL, from all over the north of England. Rochdale AFC Walking Football entered seven teams across all age groups, three in the over 60’s, three in the over 65’s and one in the 70’s.
The Strollers retained their over 70s top flight title by an impressive eleven point margin, with no defeats in twelve games.
The Striders entered the final round of fixtures with a great chance of winning the third division of the over 60’s. Sadly they just fell short, but won the runners-up trophy. They had only one defeat in the season.

The teams joined us for a lap of honour at half time of the Rochdale AFC vs Port Vale fixture, parading the silverware before they go into the new trophy cabinets in Our Spot - Community Hub.
