Rochdale Football Club are looking for local families to provide a safe, warm and comfortable environment for our 16-18 year old apprentices who have moved away from home to pursue a football career.
The role of the Landlord/Landlady is a fundamental part of the young person’s Career, Educational, Social and Emotional Development, both on and off the football pitch. By providing a spacious and private bedroom, clean and hygienic washing facilities, rounded and healthy meals, regular clean and fresh laundry and a good level of modern communication and leisure amenities, you will be a major part of the young people’s lives whether they make a career in football or not.
The role is all year round and runs from the last week in June until the middle of May, and is usually 5 nights a week as players will usually go home on Saturday afternoons/evenings depending on whether the 1st team are at home, and if their family home is in reasonable travelling distance.
Payment for the agreed contract will be £22.00 per day per apprentice (it is usually good practice, and financially beneficial, for a minimum of 2 apprentices to be housed together).
All accommodation must be a NON SMOKING environment.
Each member over 18 within the household will require an enhanced DBS check before a player can be placed with them. The Club will pay for and facilitate this process.
Householders will be required to accept announced and unannounced visits during the season as required by safeguarding recommendations.
Full training and support will be given.
If you feel you could offer this important and rewarding service, please contact Roy Thickett for an informal discussion.
