The Statue For Cloughie fundraiser has reached it's target of £10,000!
Set-up less than two weeks ago, the generosity from not just Dale supporters, but those around the footballing world, to donate towards the statue, has been incredible.
Initially with a target £2,500, the fundraiser was set up by Dale fan Mark Cryer to create a lasting tribute to super fan David Clough.
Cloughie, as he was affectionately known, raised over an estimated half a million pounds for the Club during his time as a Goldbond Agent, and upon his death last year, bequeathed his entire estate to the Club.
Upon hearing the news, supporter Mark wanted to raise enough money to comission a statue of David, allowing him to have a permanent presence at the Crown Oil Arena.
The revised target of £10,000, which it is estimated the statue will cost, was reached on Thursday afternoon, thanks to the magnificent efforts from those who have donated.
