Tyler Smith said there is no better feeling than grabbing a winning goal.
The forward scored his first in a Dale shirt to secure all three points against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
He was delighted to open his account for the Club and to earn his new side a win.
“It’s a good feeling,” said Smith.
“We needed it and we deserved it. It’s good to get off the mark.
“I got told to come on and win the game; and that’s what I did today. Hopefully we can kick on from now.
“As a striker you’ve always got to be alert and on the move. It’s where I was and it dropped to me, so I just smashed it home.
“Hopefully I can kick on from there and get another one, then another one and another one.
“That’s what I’m here to do, I’m here to run around and score goals.”
Smith has been with the Club for just over a fortnight since his arrival from Sheffield United, but feels he has settled in quickly.
“I’m loving it here. Everyone has welcomed me really well. To come off with the winner today – there’s nothing much better than that.
“There was a bit of a scramble in the box and I just saw it drop to me. I thought I’ll just hit it! Luckily, it went in.
“The pitch didn’t help but we stuck together and dug in hard. We needed three points and I’m glad we’ve got it.
“With the conditions it wasn’t easy, but everyone stuck together and we got what we deserved.”
