A Message From The Chairman

24 December 2020

A message from Chairman Andrew Kilpatrick...

As we approach what is, without doubt, the strangest Christmas of all our lives, it is difficult not to think about “what might have been” in terms of a world without COVID, crowds at Blackpool on Boxing Day and at the Crown Oil Arena on the 29th, and the simple pleasures of unrestricted mixing with Family and friends.

Sadly, due to circumstances beyond all of our controls, most of these freedoms that we have, previously, taken for granted are impossible this year.

It is therefore doubly important that we try to remember the central message of Hope that is inherent in the Christmas Story and, that the newly developed Vaccines and treatments offer a light at the end of the tunnel and a cause for optimism for the future.

I would like to thank everyone involved with Rochdale AFC - the Staff, the Players, my fellow Directors and - most importantly - you, the Fans and Supporters, for your hard work and unstinting efforts to  support and sustain the Club during the immensely difficult circumstances since the Pandemic struck.

Please be assured that we will continue to work tirelessly towards the time when we can welcome everyone back to the Crown Oil Arena and ensure the proud future of the Club that we all cherish so much.

On behalf of the Club, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the Front Line Services for all they have done - and continue to do - to keep us all safe.

Finally, may I wish you, all your Families and friends a very Happy Christmas and to express the fervent hope that 2021 brings a Happier New Year for us all.

Up the ‘Dale.

Andrew
