Manager Brian Barry-Murphy wants to thank supporters who have purchased their Season Card for the 2020/21 campaign.
Fans queued for up to four hours on Saturday to get theirs, when they went on sale. The Boss spent time chatting to fans in the queue, and he was blown away by your commitment and dedication.
“I’m not sure if I would have had the patience to do that, if I’m honest! But on the flip side of that I know the girls in the office worked very, very hard,” said BBM.
“There has been a lot of distraction around the circumstances surrounding football and it would have been very easy for our supporters to hold back on that. I know that they would have had concerns themselves about what access to games they’re going to have or even what our squad will look like.
“But the response to the Season Card launch and the kit launch on Saturday has been amazing. What we saw from supporters was pretty much what we as a squad believe - what has gone on over the last few months has been very difficult and has thrown up a difficult set of circumstances like I have mentioned, but the overwhelming impression, that I got from supporters was that they don’t really care about that, they just want to get back to watching games and forget what has gone on.
“That is the same for myself and the players. We just want to reinforce what we do have, rather than what we don’t have, and to try and build on that and create a real good energy and a positive view of the Club.
“It was important for me to meet to supporters on Saturday to reassure them that I believe that we have a group of players that are capable of representing them in a very positive and exciting manner.
“We will be doing everything that we can to add players to the squad that we feel we need to really take us forward, and in turn really excite everyone who went to such lengths to secure Season Cards and the supporters who could not afford to financially at this time but continue to support us from afar.”
