Calvin Andrew Named PFA Community Champion

28 March 2019

Calvin Andrew has been named as Rochdale AFC’s PFA Community Champion for 2018/19.

He was presented with the award by PFA Community Liaison Executive Dennis Leman at half-time of Saturday’s win over Scunthorpe United.

The award recognises Andrew's contribution to the community, including visits to local schools, his involvement with Rochdale AFC Ladies teams, events held at the Soccer Factory, and many more.

It is the third year in succession that the forward has received the award.

Assistant Manager Of Dale In The Community Sports Trust Siobhan McElhinney said:

"Not only is Calvin's professionalism recognised on the pitch, but his support and professionalism off the pitch for the Community Trust is second to none.

"This is his third consecutive year he has been nominated for the award of which he thoroughly deserves. He has had a huge presence within the Community again this year.

"He has not only attended Community Trust Activities but more recently attending a local Care Home to visit a life long blind Rochdale fan who is now house bound and struggles with isolation.

"He is a fantastic role model and a pleasure to work with."

Congratulations, Calvin!
