Premier League Primary Stars Success Continues

22 January 2019

The Premier League Primary Stars programme continues to be in full swing at the beginning of 2019.

Dale In The Community Sports Trust coach Mark Pilling delivered a practical session to Year 1 & 2 students at Tonacliffe Primary School, based around throwing and catching, earlier in the week.

Mark then went into the classroom with the group who were working on their reading and writing skills.

The Premier League Primary Stars Programme aims to increase children’s participation and enjoyment in sport and physical activity in targeted schools.

Schools get the opportunity to have in-school delivery, plus access to the Primary Stars website, where teachers have a huge range of resources that they can gain access to.

The throwing and catching session took place under the watchful eye of FA Regional PE & Coaching Education Co-Ordinator Chris Welburn (pictured below), who has been working with Mark for a number of months.

Chris works with Community Trust coaches on a regular basis, helping with the planning, delivery and evaluation of sessions.
