Rochdale AFC Ladies Open Age team advanced to the semi-finals of the Division One League Cup with a convincing 4-1 win over Tameside United.
In horrendous conditions, Dale took a while to get going, but a brilliant cross from Erin Kilpatrick was nodded home by Brooke Strudwick to break the deadlock.
Ellie Doggett doubled the advantage with a wonderful strike, but the visitors managed to pull a goal back before the break.
However, Dale continued in much the same vain, adding a third after the restart. Abby Driffield’s pinpoint cross found Strudwick, who netted her second.
She then secured a hat-trick when the same combination worked wonders again, as Driffield’s cross was again nodded home by Strudwick.
It is Dale’s 12th consecutive win in all competitions.
