Jim McNulty Supports You Vs Train Campaign At St John's RC Primary School

6 December 2019

Jim McNulty again showed his support for the EFL Trust’s You Vs Train campaign recently.

The defender visited St John’s RC Primary School in the centre of Rochdale to speak to Year 6 students about the dangers of the railway network to young people.

The EFL Trust’s partnership with Network Rail is helping to tackle the increasing number of people risking their lives on the railway.

St John’s Primary is located a stone’s throw from Rochdale Railway Station and also has a Metrolink line run right outside its premises.

McNulty helped to launch Dale In The Community Trust’s support of the campaign back in August, with the Trust holding workshops across the community to raise awareness of the campaign.

New figures reveal over 250 incidents a week have been recorded by people taking risks on the railway, taking short cuts, capturing photos and even ‘train surfing’, sometimes with tragic consequences, with young people (under-18s) making up one of the largest categories, responsible for a third of all cases.
