It Seems Like A Great Fit For Me - Tyler Magloire

8 August 2019

Tyler Magloire says Rochdale AFC is a great fit for him, after joining on loan from Blackburn Rovers.

The defender has signed until the end of the season from the Championship club, and he can’t wait to get started.

“I was speaking to the Gaffer about coming here, being around a first team environment full-time and getting involved straight away,” said Magloire.

“Speaking to him on the phone, it seemed like a great fit for me and I can’t wait to get started.

“It’s something that will be different for me, but I’m ready to step up to the challenge and do what I can do.

“I can’t wait to meet all the lads, get going, and settle in as quickly as possible.”

The 20-year-old is a player that manager Brian Barry-Murphy has been keen to bring in this summer, something that gives Magloire confidence.

“It’s a good feeling to know that they’ve been chasing me for a while. When I heard of the interest it was definitely top of the list of where I wanted to go, and after speaking to the manager, it was the best decision for me.

“It’s going to be different as I’ve been there [Blackburn] since I was nine, so I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone a bit. It will be a new challenge for me and hopefully I can just push on and learn more things here.”

He made his professional debut for Rovers last season, in a 3-0 win over Wigan Athletic, and wants to make more memories at the Crown Oil Arena this season.

“It was a great day, one I will always remember, and hopefully I can create a lot of memories here this season.

“There have been a lot of good players who have moved on from Blackburn and a lot that are still there, so they do a lot right at the Academy, give young players a good chance of going on to do something in their careers.”

Magloire also has a reputation as being a speedster. He has clocked up speeds that are faster than those of World Cup winner Kylian Mbappé, and even Usain Bolt!

“It’s not a bad stat to have! But I don’t want that to be the only thing that I’m known for. Hopefully I can come here and show that there’s a lot more to me than just that.”
