Jim McNulty Promotes You Vs Train Campaign

19 August 2019

Jim McNulty visited Dale In The Community Sports Trust’s summer Football & Multi-Sport Sessions last week, to talk to youngsters about the EFL Trust’s You Vs Train campaign.

The defender spoke to a group of attendees about the dangers of the railway network to young people.

The EFL Trust has launched a new partnership with Network Rail and the British Transport Police to help tackle the increasing number of people risking their lives on the railway.

We will be part of the project that will help to educate and raise awareness of the dangers of the railway network to young people.

New figures reveal over 250 incidents a week have been recorded by people taking risks on the railway, taking short cuts, capturing photos and even ‘train surfing’, sometimes with tragic consequences, with young people (under-18s) making up one of the largest categories, responsible for a third of all cases.

Last week, Dale In The Community Sports Trust also put on workshops at Kingsway Park Sports Centre and Rochdale Leisure Centre for the Friday evening attendees. These workshops proved highly interesting and seriously educational with fantastic input from the young people of Rochdale.
