Keith Hill Pre-Oxford United (A)

26 November 2018

Manager Keith Hill on Tuesday night's League One fixture away at Oxford United...

“I’ve got to take into consideration our last two away games in which we’ve conceded six goals. We’ve been pretty poor," said Hill.

“Prior to that at Bradford City away we won 2-0 and played pretty well. After that game, regardless of the scoreline, I was pretty pleased with the performance.

“Recently, there’s been too many goals going in away from home, so I’ll probably adjust the players' mentality and our starting positions, and make sure that we nullify Oxford’s threat.

“Different mentality, different plan, but same team. Sometimes you have to have a different mentality, there’s no question about that, and as a manager you want repeat performances.

“The mentality can be somewhat different depending on who you’re playing and where you’re playing.”

Hill also spoke of the lengthy trip for a Tuesday night, but believes his side should be fresh heading into the game.

“They should be [fresh]. We’ve got a healthy squad, we’ll pick ourselves up again. We’ll travel down on the day.

“I don’t like overnight stays, especially on a Tuesday night. Financially it hurts the club and preparation wise it’s not healthy. We’ll go down on the day and go straight to the ground.”
