The Dale Supporters Trust and Rochdale Football Club have been nominated for an award at next week’s Football Business Awards.
Being held in London on Thursday 22nd November, two Trust members will be in attendance.
We are one of six Trusts/Clubs to be shortlisted in the ‘Best Club and Supporters Group Relationship’ category.
A Trust spokesperson said: "This recognition has been achieved as a result of the open and accessible relationship which exists between the Club and the Trust.
"The ability for open discussion to take place, whether formally at the regular Directors' meetings, or, vitally, on an informal basis, with the willingness of various Club personnel to meet with the Trust to discuss specific matters as they arise, is the underlying basis for the strong working relationship which exists between the two."
James Mason, Chief Executive of Rochdale AFC, said: "Although I am only new to Rochdale AFC, I am well aware of the strong relationship that exists between the club and the Trust.
"The award nomination doesn't surprise me, as it is obvious the two work closely together with a great respect for each other, which is great to see.
"There is fantastic work going at the club to engage with supporters. Being open and accessible is part of that, which has helped to form our strong working relationship with the Trust.
"Currently, we are working together on developing the Former Players' Association, which further underpins how our strong relationship can benefit all in the community."
The shortlist for the award is as follows:
- Cambridge United FC and Cambridge Fans United;
- Fulham FC and Fulham Supporters Trust;
- Portsmouth FC and Pompey Supporters Trust;
- Rochdale AFC and Dale Supporters Trust;
