Desmond The Dragon visited youngsters at Heap Bridge Primary School on Monday during National School Sport Week.
Dale In The Community Sports Trust coaches are at the school all week, holding coaching sessions for the students.
As part of ‘Mascot Monday’, Desmond was on-hand to take part in the sessions, as well as meet the pupils and pose for photographs.
Each year group at the school will take part in a daily session throughout the week’s coaching sessions.
The National School Sport Week initiative is part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, which the Community Trust deliver at Heap Bridge Primary amongst many other local schools.
This year the focus is on schools ‘celebrating the role of play and sport in education’. In 2017, over 5,000 schools and 1.8 million pupils took part.
