Manager Keith Hill on Dale’s 0-0 draw with MK Dons at the Crown Oil Arena…
“There’s no disappoint tonight after Sunday’s exertions in the FA Cup. It’s more mental stress when you turn up and there’s less than 3,000 in the stadium and there’s an expectancy to turn over MK Dons. It has been a very good week, a positive week, but all we’ve done is raise the expectation levels.
“There was a tension there tonight that I didn’t expect but I understood. Everybody has to earn their opportunity to compete and we competed tonight. The players stuck to it and we got a valuable point.
“I thought the lads were magnificent to a certain degree, because when you’re tired mentally and physically, concentration levels are affected.
“For the large percentage of the first half, I thought the players were very, very good. In the second half they tried their best to show the energy & the intelligence that we need and we kept a clean sheet.
“We didn’t lose the game which is real positive from my point of view because we’ve lacked concentration going into the depths of other games. We kept our composure and we kept a deserved clean sheet.”
