Second-year scholar Florian Yonsian says the Youth Team are excited and ready for their FA Youth Cup third round tie at Queens Park Rangers.
Dale travel to Loftus Road on Monday night (7pm kick-off) looking to reach the fourth round of the prestigious competition.
“The whole team are ready for the game,” said Yonsian.
“We’ve been working hard in the past week or two to get ready for the game. We had a good performance on Tuesday [against Fleetwood Town], so our confidence is up for the game.
“We know that if we do the things that we’re told to and the things we’re good at, we can have a good game on Monday and try to get the win.
“We know that QPR are a good team, but we’re confident within ourselves. We know that if we do the things that we’re good at then we’ll have a good game.”
Yonsian scored in Dale’s second round win at home to MK Dons, netting the second which came after his side had been reduced to ten men.
“I was really happy to score. We worked hard throughout the game and it was a reward for me to get the goal. The whole team worked extremely hard, so we were really pleased with the win.
“We knew it would get harder [after the sending off], but we stayed together and worked hard together to maintain our performance and get the win.”
Yonsian, who turned 18 last week, made his first-team debut in last month’s Checkatrade Trophy tie against Leicester City under-21s.
“I was really grateful to the Gaffer for the opportunity that he gave me. I was really happy, especially because it was home as well. That feeling was really, really nice.
“It’s been a really good experience. All the first team players have helped me a lot. I’m really happy for the opportunities that the Gaffer has given me and I just need to keep working hard and doing what he tells me to do try and give me the best chances.”
