Springhill Hospice Presented With Cheque From Funds Raised At Family Fun Day

13 August 2018

Springy the Frog presented with cheque at Dale's first home game of the season...

A cheque was presented to Springy the Frog by representatives from Rochdale Football Club and The Skills Company, at Dale’s League One fixture against Peterborough United at the Crown Oil Arena on Saturday.

As supporters may remember, the club and The Skills Company teamed up to organise a family fun day, held at the ground in June, to help raise funds for Springhill Hospice. We’re delighted to say that £527.93 was raised!

Rochdale Football Club have been working closely with the Skills Company during the summer, and the students have been involved in several activities, including helping organise the club’s family fun day, creating the player silhouettes for the magnificent Wonder Wall and voluntary work like litter picking and maintenance around Crown Oil Arena.

Based on Chichester Street, The Skills Company helps young people begin and process their careers offering pre-apprenticeship courses and traineeships designed to give young people the qualifications, skills and experience that employers are looking for. The programme offers practical, work-based alternatives to staying on at Sixth Form or going to college or university.
