PDP Lead Coach Chris Brown is expecting a tough game when the Youth Team take on Tranmere Rovers this Saturday.
Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Walsall made it ten wins in a row for Dale, but Brown says he is looking for improvement.
“There’s been a lot of games that we’ve done really well in!” said Brown.
“We’ve gone game-by-game, performance-by-performance. We’ve had a bit of a dip within those wins, and won ugly in some.
“We’re taking it game-by-game and looking at how we can improve. We’ve had a team meeting looking at where we can improve from Tuesday when we won 2-0.
“We’re always looking to better ourselves and not get ahead of ourselves, because we have to stay humble in what we’re doing.
“We have to stick to task in what we’re here for, which is produce professional footballers, and doing the right things at the right times.
“The lads are really good football players, and they’re setting their minds to winning football matches.”
Saturday’s opponents Tranmere were the last team to stop Dale from winning in a competitive game, and they currently sit third in the EFL Youth Alliance League.
“They’re a really good team. We’ve watched them in the team meeting, and we saw some really good football being played.
“They’re difficult to play against out of possession, and in possession they have some really good players going forward.
“It’ll be a tough test, and we’ve got to make sure we approach the game in the right mentality, and keep performing how we have been doing.
“If we do step off the gas we will get punished, and they’ve got to make sure that’s not going to happen.”
