PDP Lead Coach Chris Brown spoke to iFollow ahead of the Youth Team’s match against Carlisle United on Saturday.
It is their first home match of the season, to be played at Stalybridge Celtic’s Bower Fold home, after a link was agreed between the two Clubs.
“I’m looking forward to it, and the lads are too, in terms of there’s no travelling for them, and it should be a good pitch to play on.
“Hopefully we can make it a bit of a fortress at Stalybridge by getting off to a flying start tomorrow.”
Brown’s side have recorded back-to-back league wins in their previous two games, the last of those a 4-0 win over Port Vale coming a fortnight ago.
“The team was playing well, in a flowing style, good on and off the ball and getting a couple of good wins.
“The lads have been working hard in training. We’ve been trying to keep them as fit as possible, which is important when you don’t have matches, especially as it’s a major part of the way we play.
“We’ve also been working on a bit of end product, and trying to tidy up at the other end in our defending, to keep those clean sheets coming thick and fast.
