Changes To Community Board Of Trustees

14 September 2017

Rochdale AFC’s Dale In The Community Sports Trust is celebrating its 30 year anniversary today (14th September 2017).

Whilst Keith Hicks has been Head of Community for all but a few weeks of those 30 years, the Trust itself is a Charity which is managed and given direction by a Board of Trustees, of which the Chair of Trustees has a very important role.

The current Chair of Trustees, Andrew Kelly, has stepped down from the role and from the Board of Trustees after many years of dedicated service.

The Football Club Board and the Trust would like to thank Andrew for his years of service and for the commitment and enthusiasm that he brought to the role. Andrew remains on the Board of Directors of Rochdale AFC, and will continue concentrating his activities on the Club Academy.

The Football Club nominate two Trustees to the Community Board. Along with Andrew stepping down, Russ Green is also leaving the Trust Board.

In their place, the Football Club have nominated David Bottomley and John Smallwood to become Trustees.

At half-time of Tuesday night’s dramatic win over Doncaster Rovers, the match closest to the Trust’s anniversary, it was fantastic to see the Trust’s Walking Footballers entertain the crowd inside the Crown Oil Arena.

If you want more information on the Trust, or wish to get involved, then please visit the Community pages on this website, or call Keith Hicks on 01706 643836 or 07958593121.
